JUDGE Cecil Reuben bgr

CECIL REUBEN is the promoter of reggae events at London’s Brixton multiple award winning venue Hootananny in Brixton. A venue that has almost single-handed revitalized live Jamaican music in the capital.

Since his arrival there the Hootananny has seen visits from artists such as Yellowman, Bushman and Don Carlos, and many many more form the Caribbean & Europe. Cecil also runs regular nights for home-grown singing and sound system talent.

Cecil Reuben is the reason why the Britain’s Got Reggae event came into fruition. Following a off show Cecil loved how our team delivered the event and asked us if we could do more shows. We came up with the concept of the competition and ran with it.

Big respect to him as he has provided us and may other singers, bands, promoters, producers, sound systems many opportunities to spread the love of reggae music and is a massive contribution to the UK reggae scene. Big respect to him.

Judge Beverley Notes bgr

BEVERLEY NOTES is a backing vocalist for over 35 years (by choice) working with the cream of the crop such as Boy George, Gregory Isaacs, Derek Morgan, B.B. Seaton, Jimmy Riley, Cedric Mylton from the group The Congos. Beverley features on Lee Scratch Perry’s latest Album and shes toured with Shabba Ranks, Wayne Wonder, Fredlocks, Horace Andy and many more.

People have always asked her why she is not a lead singer, but as she was doing so well as a backing vocalist she did not consider it. As Beverley has become older she has decided to do exactly that and is currently working on her own album.

Beverly is very creative and is also into animation which is not an easy skill. We hope we can see some more of her work soon.
